Me Love Cookies

We all love to eat Momma's cookies! But even better for the kids is to lick the beater!

Practice Makes Perfect

In preparation of the kid's first time bowling this coming Saturday, they took some practice in the kitchen on Sunday. Watch out all other children of City employees, we will be ready to go come Saturday!

Kids Meet Rooms

Now that the stairs are framed we were able to take the kids upstairs to see their rooms, which they thought was pretty cool.

Carver in his room (the one that faces front in the dormer).

Kinnick in his room (directly behind Carver's, faces backyard)

Taylor in her room (on the walkout end)

Windows Going In

Well, the house is continuing to look more and more like our house.......and we love it! Some windows are in, stairs are framed, and chimney is complete. Plumbing and HVAC will start next week, woo hoo!

Taylor's Five!!!!!

Well, not officially until Tuesday. However, the festivities started Saturday morning as Taylor and four of her closest friends, two brothers, and two cousins gathered for fun at the Par Tee Zone in Sycamore Mall. Following a workout full of climbing, running, pretending the whole play area was a boat in an ocean, we took the party our house. There the girls enjoyed treats, playing with some of Taylor's things, and opening gifts.

Left to right: Zoe, Lily, Jaelynn, Taylor, Djuna

Following the fun with the girls we had family over to share in Taylor's big day. Of course, we had to make a homemade cake to match the theme of the party. Which in this case was Unicorns! Taylor had a wonderful time with her Granparents, Aunt Beth, and cousins Logan and Mason.

Snow.......and More Snow

Well, much like most of you in eastern Iowa we received another 11" of snow on Wednesday, to go on top of the 8 - 10" we received on Sunday. Needless to say my back is hurting a bit from shoveling, but that doesn't mean we don't enjoy it and have are share of fun.

We had to take advantage of Taylor's school letting out at noon, and decided to take her and the dogs to the park for a winter adventure.

The dogs had a ball, though Buddy snorted a little too much snow at times, giving him brain freeze.

The snow and the park made for a beautiful winter wonderland

Super Bowl Entertainment

Had to pass along this story as it is too funny. Tonight we're watching the super bowl halftime and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are performing. The kids were really excited to watch the guitars and rock n roll music. So one of the guitar players has kinda medium long hair and a full beard and Carver points to him and says, "Hey, that's God." We say no Carver that's not God and Kinnick says "it's Jesus"! We said no probably not but Jesus might have played guitar, you never know! I love how impressionable they are at this age and with that the fact that what is making an impression on them is God and Jesus.

FYI - Hawks are victorious this weekend: Wrestlers won twice, men's and women's basketball also won. Hawkeye women are tied for #1 in the Big Ten! Go Hawks! Tay and I had a girls day out and went to the women's game today. It was a good game, good crowd and most of all a good time with my girl.

For those not living in Iowa, I bet we got 8 to 12" of snow today and we were only supposed to get a trace to 1"! Amazing, we usually have a blizzard warning or Winter Storm Warning when we only get 1" of snow and today there were no warnings and blizzard like conditions, hilarious. Brian has deemed the weatherman job the easiest job on the planet! What other job can you be wrong more than 80% of the time and still keep your job?
