Easter Festivities

Well, you can't have Easter without Easter eggs.........and you can't have Easter eggs without your bunny masks!

And of course if you have eggs......you have to have an Easter egg hunt. The kids were able lucky enough to find eggs left by the Iowa City Easter bunny and the Ankeny Easter bunny.

And of course Easter is a great excuse to wear your Sunday's best!

But most of all Easter is about being with family and the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Another Masterpiece

Well, Amy has done it again. This time with the assistance of our good friend Kari. The product, a baby shower cake for our pregnant friend Liz. This pregnant lady cake was soooo cute......and delicious as Amy took her first attempt at fondant frosting which turned out really cool. Here are some pictures of the pregnant "rock star". Spring is Coming!!!

Snow remaining on the ground or not, our kids have declared that spring is here! The new scooters are out and we are ready to go.

Gable and Shingles

Thanks to Grandma Pat and Grandpa Norm for watching the kids this weekend as Amy and I made attempts to making some final decision on some out standing house items. In particular we focussed on flooring, light fixtures, and exterior colors/stone.

In the meantime, contractors were busy themselves on the house. The final front gable was framed, a good portion of the roofing (shingles) was completed Saturday, the plumbers were hard at work as tubs and showers are now installed, and the electrician continues to install can lights and wiring.

Sale Pending!

Believe it or not we have accepted an offer on our house as of the end of last week, and after only 3 weeks on the market! The sale is pending inspections to take place this week but we are certainly excited. The one negative part of this deal is that we have to be out of the house by April 18th and our new house is not scheduled to be completed until early June. However, we will find a way to make due temporarily.......we have done it before.

Speaking of the new house, there is a lot of action going on there. The geothermal guys were working hard last week as the pictures below show.




In addition, the electrician made some great strides on Sunday and this week is lining up to be a big week for the plumber, electrician, and possibly roofer. Below is a picture of the house with all of the windows in the front. We get more excited every time we go over as things are really looking great!

Just Another Weekend

Well, the weekend started with a night at the Wig and Pen and the Iowa v. ISU women's gymnastics meet on Friday. We enjoyed a great night out with our friends Bill, Katie, and Nile Iverson. The pizza was great, the gymnastics exciting, and the Cyclones were defeated! What more could you want. In addition, we had the kids Nile, Kinnick, and Carver all within Carver Hawkeye Arena.

The weekend then continued on Saturday with the City employee bowling event at Colonial Lanes. All apologies to the bowlers on each side of us as our kids were all over the place. It didn't help that the bowling event took place during nap time for our kids but we still had a great time. We even got in a game of miniature golf at the end.
